Dawn is an experienced and determined family law attorney and mediator who cares about her clients and always speaks the truth when advising them, even when it’s hard to hear. Dawn is committed to informing every client where they stand in their case and providing them with all available options to develop the perfect strategy to their case. She keeps her clients’ best interests in mind and will work relentlessly to help obtain the results they desire. She is known for being outspoken and tackling difficult issues head on but also recognizes that every case is different and tailors her plan of action to meet the client’s financial and emotional needs.

Clients often praise Dawn for her strong demeanor, both in and out of the courtroom. She is dedicated to helping people gain the strength and self-confidence needed to navigate through difficult personal matters. Clients find comfort in Dawn’s honesty, knowledge of the law, and desire to help people.

Dawn has a passion for advocating for victims of child abuse, domestic violence, and parents involved with Child Protective Services. She has spent over 15 years working with children in foster care and their families. Prior to becoming an attorney, Dawn was a social worker with Child Protective Services where she discovered her love for all things family law and her gift to help children and families become whole after they have experienced trauma. Dawn remains dedicated to helping people everyday. The most rewarding thing for her is when her clients are able to walk away independent, stronger, and more confident at the end the their case.

A Native Texan with a passion for family law

Dawn is a Dallas native who was raised in Sunnyvale, Texas and graduated from North Mesquite High School. She obtained her Bachelor’s Decree from Texas A&M University-Commerce and majored in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Dawn attended Texas A&M School of Law, formally Texas Wesleyan, where she graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence and a love for Fort Worth. During law school, she worked for Child Protective Services and was a paralegal for a local attorney. In her free time, she volunteered with Teen Court, led presentations to elementary students on laws in the community, and taught financial responsibility workshops for children aging out of foster care.

As an attorney, Dawn has experience in representing people in high-conflict divorces and child custody matters, parents involved with Child Protective Services, foster parents, grandparents, clients seeking and defending protective orders, and has completed numerous adoptions. She was named “Top Attorney” by Fort Worth Magazine 2017-2020.

Dawn is very active in the legal community and is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association, Texas Bar College, Texas Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyer’s Association and serves on the board for Tarrant County’s National Adoption Day, which is held every year in November.

When Dawn is not busy practicing family law, she enjoys crafting and spending time with her family. She and her husband recently welcomed twin boys to the family and are now the proud parents of 3 children and 3 dogs.
